Scouts from the Old Trail District gathered to work on Forestry Merit Badge

Despite the rain, hearty Boy Scouts from Old Trail District Troop 16 spent the day at Walnut Ridge for the third annual forestry merit badge rendezvous. Brian Gandy, an accredited independent forester, worked with the scouts and adults teaching them proper forest management, identification of trees, shrubs and vines, proper care and safety when logging and felling trees, impacts of forestry on our economy and ecology, and employment opportunities in the forestry industry.
